Branfil Primary Pupil Premium Grant
The Government believes that the Pupil Premium Grant, which is additional to main school funding, is the best way to address the current underlying inequalities between children eligible for free school meals (FSM) and other children by ensuring that funding to tackle social disadvantage reaches the pupils who need it most. The Pupil Premium Grant is allocated to children who are currently known to be eligible for FSM in school, children who have been 'looked after' (children in foster care) continuously for more than six months and Armed Forces children.
Principles for the use of the Pupil Premium Grant
The pupil premium is additional funding for publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils of all abilities and to close the gaps between them and their peers.
At Branfil Primary we aim to use our funding to achieve specific outcomes, agreed by the Governing Body; please see the Pupil Premium Strategy 2022-2023 document below for details. We are aware that there are many acronyms used in the document so we have included a glossary of these terms on the Key Information tab. Each year the statement is reviewed and evaluated to ensure we are being effective in raising attainment whilst also seeking value for money in our chosen strategies. You will see the evaluations of our previous Pupil Premium Strategies below.
If you would like further explanation or support to understand this document please make an appointment to meet with Mrs Metcalfe, Pupil Premium leader, via the school office.
